Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro

Tue Jun 24, 2008, 3:57 PM
I know this breaks away from my usual angsty ranting but heh this is pretty awsome. I found this new manga/anime that i actually like more then naruto (hard to beleive i know) but its really impossible to hate any of the characters but it is pretty gory.

The drawing is good, not like naruto but it is still pretty damn good. The plot is nice too, i mean at first it seems kinda repetetive but it really is funny...and bloody really really bloody... but heh its still awsome.

Right now its in shonen jump in japan but u can still read it on onemanga.com and watch all of the videos on youtube. The anime is good, not alot like the manga but it is still worthwhile.

Actually im rewatching the anime cuz there is alot of stuff that u dont get the second time around but get again. And lets face it a demon that eats puzzles and is incredibly stubborn is just plain awsome. I suggest you read before watching but it really doesnt matter that much.

The mystery is on the tip of my tongue. -Nougami Neuro
RE1 story: The original game opens on the evening of July 24, 1998 in the fictional Raccoon City, a Midwestern town, where a number of grisly murders have taken place on the outskirts of town. Victims were attacked in their homes, and apparently eaten, by a group of assailants. Local law enforcement sends in the Special Tactics and Rescue Service (STARS) Bravo team. After contact is lost, Alpha team is sent to find Bravo team and continue the investigation. Alpha team locates Bravo team's helicopter, but there are no signs of survivors; only a severed hand is found. While searching the area for further clues, Alpha team is attacked by ferocious dogs, one of which kills one of the team's members, Joseph Frost. Alpha's helicopter pilot, Brad Vickers, takes off and abandons the team. Pursued by the dogs who killed their colleague, Alpha team is forced to seek refuge within a nearby mansion, believed to be abandoned.

With the dogs roaming outside, the four remaining Alpha team members (Albert Wesker, Chris Redfield, Barry Burton and Jill Valentine) are trapped within. A gun shot rings out, and the player character moves to investigate. At this point, the player takes control of the character and begins to explore the mansion. One of the first discoveries is a member of Bravo team, Kenneth J. Sullivan, being eaten by a zombie. The character eventually finds the mansion to be riddled with puzzles, traps, and horrors. Scattered documents and files suggest that a series of illegal experiments were being undertaken on the property by a clandestine research team, under the authority and supervision of the Umbrella Corporation, a pharmaceutical conglomerate. The creatures roaming the mansion and surrounding region are the results of these experiments, which have exposed the mansion's personnel and various animals and insects to a highly contagious and mutagenic biological agent known as the T-Virus (hence the Japanese title, Biohazard).

After navigating a series of tunnels, passageways and buildings, the player discovers a secret underground laboratory containing the Umbrella Corporation's experiments. In the lab, Wesker reveals that he is a double agent working for Umbrella and releases the Tyrant T-002, a giant humanoid monster created through prolonged exposure to the T-Virus. Upon release, the Tyrant turns toward Wesker and impales him. The player then apparently kills the Tyrant and a self-destruct system is triggered. After the player calls for a rescue helicopter, the Tyrant bursts through the roof of the lab onto the helicopter pad and attacks. Vickers drops a rocket launcher and the player fires it at the Tyrant, blowing the monster apart and finally killing it. The player escapes in the helicopter and the game ends as the mansion explodes.

The ending varies depending on choices made by the player. The ending plays out as described above in Chris and Jill's endings if the player saves only one or neither of their teammates.
RE2 story: The game begins on September 29, 1998, as the citizens of Raccoon City have been turned into zombies by a biological weapon known as the T-virus.[1]

Leon S. Kennedy, a police officer on his first day in the Raccoon Police Department, and Claire Redfield, a college student looking for her brother, enter the city. They fight their way to the police station. There they find Ada Wong and a little girl called Sherry Birkin.

They learn that Claire's brother, Chris Redfield, has gone to Europe to stop Umbrella's experiments. They escape the station through the sewers and find Annette Birkin, Sherry's mother. They learn that the viral outbreak was accidental, that her husband William Birkin has turned into a monster who plans to infect Sherry with the G-virus and that Ada is a spy. They fight their way to Umbrella's underground laboratory where the T- and G-viruses are being produced. On the way to the labs, William Birkin infects Sherry.

Claire continues into the laboratory to find the cure. Annette tries to kill Claire, thinking she wanted the G-virus, but is killed by her husband. As she dies, Annette tells Claire how to prepare the cure for Sherry. Leon and Ada face the T-103, and Ada is apparently killed as Leon destroys the monster with a rocket launcher.

When the laboratory self-destruct is activated, Claire tells Leon to get Sherry and go to the train, which will take them out of the underground laboratory, while she prepares the cure. The three escape the self-destructing laboratory. Claire injects Sherry with the cure and Birkin reappears, now a massive blob, making one final attack. The self-destruct mechanism activates on the train, and they escape as the train explodes, killing Birkin.

RE3 Nemisis story: The player takes control of former STARS member Jill Valentine in her attempt to escape a ruined and zombie-infested Raccoon City. During her escape, she encounters three surviving members of the Umbrella Biohazard Countermeasure Service (UBCS): Carlos Oliveira, Mikhail Victor and Nicholai Ginovaef. Mikhail sacrifices himself to save Jill from the Nemesis, a bio-organic weapon, and Jill escapes with Carlos.

The city's fate is resolved in the game's finale. The U.S. government, after hearing of unsuccessful efforts to avert the T-virus infestation, orders the destruction of Raccoon City with a nuclear missile. At this point in the game, the player has exactly fifteen minutes to escape the city before the missile strikes. While attempting to escape, Jill has to face the Nemesis one final time and blows it apart using a rail gun. Jill then escapes Raccoon City along with former STARS member Barry Burton.

RE Code Veronica X Story: The game begins with heroine Claire Redfield raiding an Umbrella Corporation facility in Paris after having left Leon and Sherry in search of her lost brother. During the infiltration she is captured and imprisoned on Rockfort Island. Trying to escape from the T-virus contaminated island, Claire teams up with inmate Steve Burnside, at the same time being confronted with the island's commander Alfred Ashford. Meanwhile, Albert Wesker is on a mission of his own to retrieve a sample of the T-Veronica virus developed by Alfred's presumed to be dead twin sister Alexia. His unit is also responsible for the outbreak of the T-virus on Rockfort Island.

Claire and Steve eventually escape via plane, but Alfred sets it to autopilot and flies both of them to another Umbrella facility in the Antarctic, in hope of freeing his sister from her 15-years-long cryogenic sleep she betook after the injection of the T-Veronica virus, to counter the flaws of that virus. After another fight with Claire and Steve which ends in the protagonists' escaping the facility via a digger, Alfred limps to Alexia, heavily injured. He witnesses her awakening moments before drawing his last breath. Alexia summons giant tentacles and crashes Claire's and Steve's digger, recapturing both.Claire's brother Chris arrives on Rockfort after having been contacted by Leon. He learns Claire is long gone and has an encounter with Wesker. Just as his old superior wants to finish him off, Alexia appears on a screen laughing. Stunned by Alexia's being still alive, Wesker changes his mind and resorts to the Antarctic. Chris eventually finds his way there, too, and is reunited with Claire who sets out to find Steve. As she locates him, she discovers Alexia conducted an experiment with him, injecting Steve with the T-Veronica virus. Steve mutates into a reptilian monster and tries to kill Claire who escapes to a prison cell, where she is attacked by another of Alexia's tentacles. Still in his mutated form, Steve breaks through the bars using his immense strength and rescues Claire. The tentacle drives into his chest and retreats. Steve mutates back to his human form and confesses his love to Claire, dying afterwards.

At the same time, Chris and Wesker confront Alexia. Overwhelmed by her strength, Wesker escapes and leaves Chris to fight her. His victory is only temporary, though, as Alexia resurrects after the battle. Meanwhile, Chris activates the facility's self-destruct system to release all locks, thus freeing Claire from the prison cell. Alexia confronts him a second time, this time leading to her ultimate destruction. Chris runs to the emergency elevator and catches a glimpse of Wesker, whose men also retrieved Steve's body to use him for further experiments, as he is the only subject injected with a sample of the T-Veronica virus. Chris convinces Wesker to release Claire who then runs to the plane, waiting for her brother. This brings forth the final showdown in which Chris is overwhelmed by Wesker. Both are separated by an explosion. Wesker vows he will satisfy his desire for revenge the next time they meet. Chris reunites with Claire and both set off just as the whole facility blows up. Chris swears to take down Umbrella once and for all.

RE Outbreak story (now this takes place the same time of RE2, and I think will be the most useful in the doushinji):
The beginning of Outbreak is set a couple of days after the initial outbreak of the T-Virus in Raccoon City, moments before the crisis erupts into complete chaos. The game ends in the final moments of the same incident, with the player attempting to escape Raccoon City before the US government launches a missile strike to eliminate the threat posed by the T-Virus. The player controls one of eight characters, or numerous supporting characters who can be selected in their place. Gameplay events transpire across various regions of Raccoon City and span over a period of several days.
CHARACTERS
Kevin Ryman: A 31 year old Raccoon Police Department officer, Ryman works at the same central precinct as the STARS. He is an expert marksman and has won several trophies in local shooting tournaments, even surpassing several of his fellow officers including Chris Redfield. Ryman has failed the STARS selection process twice due to his anger issues and bad drinking habits. He is athletic, good with firearms and an avid car lover and carries a Colt M1911 .45 as his sidearm.

Mark Wilkins
Currently working for a security company in Raccoon City, Wilkins is a 52 year old Vietnam war veteran. He cares about his family more than anything else and always does his best to protect those he cares for. He has good upper body strength that allows him to wield melee weapons well, he also starts each level in the game with a special gun that does more damage from far away than normal handguns do.

George Hamilton
One of Raccoon City's finest surgeons, George is a 39 year old who works at Raccoon General Hospital. George was, until recently, married for many years. As the game begins, George is attempting to cope with the breakup of his family and the stress of the long and difficult hours he works at the hospital. His special ability is making new medicines from herbs found in the field using his medical kit, which is in his inventory at the start of each scenario. He also has a counter attack move that allows him to dodge attacks and reply with a powerful tackle.

Cindy Lennox
Cindy is a 24-year-old waitress at J's Bar in Raccoon City. With a sparkling smile and a wonderful personality, she brings in many customers. She always does her best to help others out and always puts other people before herself ; she is also a fan of the Raccoon City Zoo Mascot "Mr. Raccoon" and collects several little things related to him. Cindy's special ability is that she can heal her friends using her herb case, which can hold three of each herb, and another space for combined herbs. She can also duck to avoid enemy attacks and , in File 2, when Cindy is carrying an injured ally, that character will also duck with Cindy so that both players avoid the attack.

David King
A quiet plumber, David doesn't talk much about his past. It's not because he is unfriendly; he is simply a man of few words. David is fascinated by Japanese history and culture, especially in relation to strength and bushido. With his equipment, David can make new tools with old ones. He also has a folding knife in his tool kit which can be used as a melee weapon, and wrenches to use as projectiles.

Alyssa Ashcroft
Alyssa is a 28 year old who works as a journalist for local newspaper, The Daily Raccoon. She is fiercely competitive and enjoys nothing more than to beat her rivals to the scoop. With her strong personality, she is a sore loser who often clashes with others. Alyssa has a natural talent for shooting and an inquisitive nature that makes good use of her skills with a lock pick. An outstanding and often overzealous journalist, Ben Bertolucci is known to respect her tenacity, although this same ambition has occasionally cost him some prime headline material.

Due to her self-absorbed and workaholic lifestyle, Alyssa has very few friends and no current relationship. She once had a close colleague by the name of Kurt. However, Kurt was killed in a mysterious incident on the outskirts of the Arklay Mountains five years before the t-Virus outbreak in Raccoon City.

Jim Chapman
Jim Chapman is a 24 year old subway employee with a keen sense of intuition and a talent for problem-solving. While Jim is a friendly and cheerful person, he can also be very cowardly and will complain constantly when nervous or angry. Although he means no harm, Jim's personality tends to frustrate and annoy those around him. He is a highly intelligent person who enjoys nothing more than sitting down to a difficult crossword puzzle or other thought-provoking challenges to pass the time.

Jim's special ability is that the enemies will rarely attack him. Jim is also equipped with his 'lucky' coin at the start of each scenario. This makes him more likely to get special events. He can also play dead by laying on the ground, fooling enemies.

Yoko Suzuki
A mysterious young woman, Yoko is a 20 year old student of Raccoon City's prestigious local university. An expert with computers, she is a somewhat shy and soft-spoken person, although she is prone to bouts of uncharacteristic bravery when it is needed the most. She has a highly inquisitive mind and once focused on something, she will relentlessly pursue her goal until it is achieved. In her spare time, she collects various kinds of gadgetry and is a voracious reader.

Yoko was originally employed in William Birkin's laboratory underneath Raccoon City. She was also one of the subjects who donated cells to the project that created the Tyrant and contributed to the T-virus production. Subsequently, Yoko was operated upon by an Umbrella researcher named Greg Muro, to suppress her memories of the experiment.

Yoko's special ability is that she can hold more items than anybody else by storing them in her backpack and dodging enemies by crawling.

RE4 story: In 2004, the Umbrella Corporation's secretive activities within Raccoon City have become a public affair. Following an investigation conducted by the U.S. government, several Umbrella officials are implicated and prosecuted. The government indefinitely suspends Umbrella's business, bankrupting the company.

Leon S. Kennedy was recruited by the U.S. Secret Service after they learned of his actions in Raccoon City. Leon is sent on a mission to rescue Ashley Graham, the President's daughter, who has been kidnapped by a mysterious cult. Leon travels to a rural village in Europe, where he encounters a horde of unruly villagers who pledge their lives to "Los Illuminados" ("The Enlightened" in Spanish), the cult that kidnapped Ashley.

During the course of the mission, Leon was injected with a mind-controlling parasite known as Las Plagas. He is also reunited with Ada Wong, a woman he met in Resident Evil 2, and Jack Krauser, one of Leon's former comrades from his years of Secret Service training, thought to be dead. He also meets Luis Sera, a former Los Illuminados researcher, who aids Leon on his mission, before he is murdered by Osmund Saddler, the leader of the Los Illuminados cult. By examining Sera's notes, Leon discovers that Los Illuminados gained control of their subjects with the Las Plagas. Their plan is to inject Ashley with a parasite, and then allow her to return to the US, where she can infect government officials.

After Saddler discovers that Leon has rescued Ashley, he commands his subjects to use any means to recover her. Meanwhile, after defeating the village chief, Bitores Mendez, Leon and Ashley take refuge inside the castle of the local castellan, Ramon Salazar. Ashley begins to cough blood, indicating the slow maturation of the Las Plagas egg in her bloodstream. Distressed by this, she runs off. Leon eventually finds her, but she is later captured again. Leon then battles his way through mazes and minions to find Salazar, only to learn that Ashley has been taken to a nearby island research facility. After numerous altercations with Saddler's forces, Leon is able to rescue Ashley, remove the Las Plagas from both of their bodies and defeat Saddler with Ada's assistance. Leon recovers a vial containing a Plagas sample from Saddler's body, but Ada forces him to give it to her at gunpoint. She then escapes from the complex in a helicopter, leaving Leon and Ashley to escape via her jet-ski.
